Hotels, restaurants, and cafes across Australia are struggling to fill roles, yet an entire talent pool remains overlooked. People with disability, ready and willing to work.
One of the biggest misconceptions in hospitality is that inclusive hiring is too hard or too expensive. The reality? Most workplace adjustments are minimal, and the return on investment is undeniable.
The hospitality sector is at a turning point. We can continue to complain about staff shortages, or we can widen our hiring lens and future-proof our industry. All Things Equal has already demonstrated how inclusive employment in hospitality works. It’s time for the rest of the hospitality industry to step forward.
With a waitlist of over 100 people seeking employment, waiting to join our training program, we are calling on hospitality businesses to commit to employing 1,100 people with disability and 4,500 to participate in inclusive hiring training by 2035.
But how do we get there? We have developed a 3-part framework to build pathways for industry.
